Quick Fix: Pizza Bagels

What in the world is better than a bagel? A bagel pizza. Damn right. We bought a whole lot of bagels one weekend when our family was in town, and we ended up with a whole lotta left over bagels. So, we decided to turn them into pizza bagels, which were wholly delicious. You too can do this in a snap or a jiffy, or whatever word you like for "short amount of time."

Oh and just because I couldn't resist this little jingle.... "When pizza's on a bagel, you can eat pizza anytime." It is so true!

Get out your sauce and your cheese slicer.

True story: I found this cheese slicer in my house, after I had been living here for, like, 5 years. But after a good sanitization, it was good as new, and what do you know, I use it all the time. Cool, huh?

Basically you take one bagel person, and then you top with a couple tablespoons of "the" marinara sauce....

And a couple of well-placed slices of mozzarella cheese.....

Add assorted toppings. We like onions in this house, and we aren't afraid of onion breath, either!

I also threw on some sausage and mushrooms. YUM!

Very important: give a little grating of cheese to the top for extra fabulousity!

Then you stick these in the oven on a Lo Broil (gosh how I love to broil, I can't tell you!)

Then--SHAZAM! Pizza bagel magic!

And all in 20 minutes, start to finish!

I cut mine in half to seem like I had even more pieces. What can I say? I love to eat!

Time: 20 minutes, start to finish | Serves 1 person per bagel | Level: Super easy!

You Will Need:

1 bagel per person, sliced in half
1 cup of sauce (per 4 bagels) OR 3 tablespoons sauce per bagel slice
2 slices mozzarella cheese per bagel, plus some for grating

Toppings, which are totally optional and endless: mushrooms, onions, sausage, pepperoni, peppers

Method

Place your bagels cut side up on a baking sheet. Top each slice of bagel with 3 tablespoons sauce, and spread it evenly. Lay two pieces of cheese on each slice and top with desired toppings. Grate some fresh mozzarella on top of toppings.

Place in the oven on a LO BROIL (with the emphasis on the LO) for about 10-12 minutes or until they are bubbly, melty, and toasted!

ENJOY!
