Relationship 101: Never Let a Good Deed Go Unnoticed

Being kind to one another keeps a relationship
young and full of love!

When it comes to relationships, it's easy to take things for granted every now and again--especially as relationships get longer. Can you believe I've been with my husband for nine and half years now?! Time flies....but the longer we're together, the more we have to work at the small things because big relationships are made of a thousand small moments.

Traveling abroad without my husband was an eye-opening experience. I learned so much about myself and it brought me back to a special place in my relationship with my husband. Leading up to my leaving, we were both extra attentive to one another, and when I got back those little things we were doing for one another stuck around.

Would you all mind if I gush for a moment?

My husband has been working really hard these days. He's been back in school getting all A's, which makes me really proud. He's also been working around the house on various projects that we have wanted to accomplish for a while now. He's been clearing brush, he's been building pens, he even built me my range for my bow and arrow hobby I've taken up!

Okay, thanks for letting me gush. I really enjoyed it.

Some of things he's done for me have been small...like grabbing me a damp cloth when I was cleaning. Or ordering dinner when I was just too tired to cook. But no matter how small the deed, I have been extra aware of all of them and I have been making it a point to let no good deed go unnoticed. Because life is short and love is important.

And I should also add, that he's been extra thankful too when I do things for him....like cook dinner or do the dishes. Maybe he missed me doing these things while I was away, or maybe we are both just growing up and in love together. I like to think it's a touch of both.

Either way, these days I am keeping in the mind small things and being extra grateful for them.

So tell me, is this something you do in your own relationships (this could also extend to friendships)? What are the special things that your significant other does for you and how you let them know you are grateful? Share in the comments section below!
